How is the Resource Centre's collection organized?
In order to mirror more closely a scholarly environment, all learning resources in the Faculty of Education Resource Centre are integrated directly into the general collection and organized using the Dewey decimal system. All material including educational kits, videos, software, is organized in this method. You may search for any document in the collection using the University of Ottawa's Library catalogue.
Does the Centre have any rooms available to work in teams or prepare presentations?
Of course! The Resource Centre has a room available (LMX 259) for those who seek an environment free of ambient noise in order to prepare presentations, work in teams, conduct interviews, etc. It should be noted however that when in the Resource Centre, working in silence is not required. In fact, the various tables in the Centre favour those who wish to get together in groups. Should you have a team project to prepare, you are welcome to install yourself anywhere in the Centre. Should you require special arrangements such as reserving specific tables or reserving our special room, please present yourself to the staff at the circulation desk.

How do I use the projectors available in the Centre?
We recommend consulting the Educational Resource Advisor, multimedia when reserving a multimedia LCD projector for a presentation or a course. The advisor can explain the functionality of the projector as well as provide various tips and tricks in its use. There is also an instruction sheet included in each projector that can be of some assistance or you may register for our special workshops offered in September, October, January and May. These workshops are open to all Education students, faculty and staff.

The due date when borrowing or renewing documents at the Faculty of Education Resource Centre is normally 14 days. In order to avoid having to come back on campus during your practicum, we are offering an extended loan period called the "Practicum Loan". Taking advantage of this offer will give you the opportunity to return your borrowed documents after your practicum, on April 30th, 2010.- The practicum loan is available at the circulation desk and only for documents belonging to the Faculty of Education Resource Centre.
- Practicum loans will be available starting March 1, 2010. No extended loan period is available before this date.
- This extended loan period does not apply automatically, you must ask for it at the circulation desk.
- If you have already borrowed documents and wish to keep these for your practicum, you must return the documents to the Resource Centre circulation desk and request the Practicum loan.
- The practicum loan is available for the following types of documents: books, videocassettes, CDs, DVDs, posters, kits, etc.
- The practicum loan is not available on videos that have a booking, documents that have a hold or when you have an excess of $10 in fines on your patron file.

- Renewing by Internet: only books can be renewed online. All other items must be renewed at the Resource Centre circulation desk.
