Mission statement
The Resource Centre exists as a centre to support the programs of the Faculty of Education, in a proactive and integrative manner, with activities involving teaching/learning resources in both French and English.Mandate
The Resource Centre in the Faculty of Education at the University of Ottawa ensures that its activities and initiatives contribute significantly to the goals defined in the Mission statement by:
- promoting the integration of technology and the fostering of literacy in all areas of its professional programs;
- affirming current activities and supporting exploration and development of teaching/learning methodologies and cross-curricular learning materials as called for by the Ministry of Education and Training;
- reflecting a vision of learning in the society of the future by providing cutting-edge information on emerging trends in teaching/learning technologies;
Specifically, the Resource Centre will provide students of the Faculty of Education with:
- learning opportunities that encourage users to become discriminating consumers and creators of information through the introduction to and use of new information technologies;
- leadership, instruction and consulting assistance in the use of instructional and information technologies and in the production of instructional materials.
The Resource Centre will provide faculty members of the Faculty of Education with:
- learning opportunities to support the effective integration of information technologies into courses offered at all levels in the faculty;
- instructional and scholarly support in the form of instructional aids; this support will be offered in conjunction with the WPC and the Centre for University Teaching.
