Profile


Cheryll Duquette is a professor and former Director of Teacher Education at the University of Ottawa. Her research program follows two tracks: inclusion of students with special needs and community/school-based teacher education programs. She has published over 30 books, refereed articles, and manuscripts for professional journals, as well as presented papers at numerous conferences. Research in the area of inclusion has been on the educational experiences of students with hearing impairment, visual impairment, fetal alcohol disorder, and learning disabilities. Publications for teachers have focused on specific techniques that may be used in inclusive classrooms. Her research in the area of teacher education centres on the experiences of the student teachers and mentor teachers in the extended practicum/internship.
