The Faculty of Education New Researcher Award
The success of young researchers is pivotal to the future of the Faculty of Education of the University of Ottawa . The New Researcher Award, established in 2003, is presented annually to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to research as a faculty member at the University of Ottawa. The researcher must hold a full-time tenure-track position at the University. By the deadline date for nomination or application, the applicant or nominee should have completed no more than seven years in a tenure-track position, beginning as an assistant professor. Furthermore, the applicant or nominee must have received a doctorate sometime during the last seven years.
The Young Researcher Award is $1,500 and is to be used by the recipient for his/her research endeavors.
An application or nomination for the New Researcher Award must contain the following:
- a letter of nomination or application,
- a double-spaced two to four-page detailed appraisal of the basis for the nomination or application,
- a curriculum vitae including a list of:
- publications,
- invited lectures,
- grants and contracts,
- present and past co-workers (students, postdoctoral fellows, others).
Every year, the Vice-Dean Research determines if a competition should be opened (based on the number of new researchers and how advanced their research projects are).
Nominations, from any member of the Faculty of Education or his or her own nomination, must be submitted by May 30 to the Vice-Dean, Research and Professional Development, of the Faculty of Education.
