Programs Offered in French

Undergraduate programs offered at the Faculty of Education are different whether they are delivered in English or French. English and French programs are not the same nor are they equivalent to one another.

Formation à l’enseignement and Teacher education

The formation à l’enseignement program leads to teaching in French-speaking Ontarian schools while the teacher education program leads to teaching in English-speaking Ontarian schools.

Formation à l’enseignement

Formation à l’enseignement is a one-year full-time bachelor of education (BEd) program offered on the Faculty’s Ottawa, Toronto and Windsor campuses.

Upon successful completion of the program, the University recommends the candidates to the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) for certification in order to teach in Ontario’s elementary and secondary schools.

Formation à l’enseignement en mode alternatif à temps partiel

This program is a bachelor of education (BEd) offered part-time over 6 sessions. It is delivered online and by videoconference on the Faculty’s Ottawa, Toronto and Windsor campuses.

Upon successful completion of the program, the University recommends the candidates to the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) for certification in order to teach in Ontario’s elementary and secondary schools.

Certificat en éducation en études technologiques

This certificate prepares candidates to teach intermediate division technological courses from grade 7 to 12.

Program graduates can not only teach in public, private and confessional Ontarian schools but also in adult training centres and correctional service facilities.
