Children’s Mental Health and Violence Prevention
Professor Tracy Vaillancourt
As Canada Research Chair, Tracy Vaillancourt is working on developing the clear understanding of bullying that is needed if we are to get a handle on this difficult challenge. Professor Vaillancourt will document the ways bullying starts. Then she will follow it as it escalates—or stops. Finally, she will track bullied children to understand the effects of their victimization over time.

Educating the “Good Citizen”

The researche is based on parallel and longitudinal case studies of schools explicitly teaching democratic citizenship and a corresponding process of reading and interpreting social, theoretical, and historical sources.
