Bachelor of education student, teacher education program
The director of the teacher education program is amazing. She’s warm and caring, and she goes out of her way to help. And, as for the Faculty, I’ve never met a better group of professors. They’re accessible and helpful-responding to endless numbers of emails. If you have a problem, they’re always there for you.
I find there’s a strong sense of community in the Faculty. There are lots of events, lots of social action projects. It’s a very close group. My classmates are awesome.
I taught grades 3 and 4 and junior kindergarten during my first practicum. I loved the school, and really enjoyed the kids. And, my associate teacher was great-very helpful and encouraging. She was always in the classroom, but toward the end of my practicum, I was teaching about 75 per cent of the time. For my next practicum, I’ll be teaching 100 per cent of the time.
It’s certainly a demanding program, but I’m enjoying every minute.
