The following guides provide the Faculty’s graduate students with precise details about programs all in one document. All guides below are available in pdf format for download.
MA(Ed) and PhD(Ed) Guide
This guide is for students registered for a research program with thesis.
It has 3 chapters.
- Chapter 1 introduces the initial steps to graduate studies: timelines, the choice of a thesis supervisor, course work and the comprehensive examination for the PhD program.
- Chapter 2 is about the thesis project and activities directly related to research. It includes the choice of a research topic, the thesis proposal, the thesis seminar, ethics approval and the thesis itself.
- Chapter 3 is about the final steps for graduate studies: evaluation of the thesis and thesis defense.
It has 2 appendices. Appendix 1 is about the interim report. Appendix 2 is about masters thesis equivalencies for admission to the PhD program.
