Special Students

The category of Special Student is intended for those who wish to take certain graduate courses without being subject to the requirements of a particular graduate program.

In the event that special students later apply for admission to a graduate degree program, they may request, and, if the request is approved, receive credits for a maximum of two graduate three-credit courses if they have obtained a mark of at least “B”.

Candidates holding a bachelor’s degree with a minimum average of  “B” are eligible to take any course offered in the M.Ed. program, with the exception of the compulsory Educational counselling concentration courses.

How to register?

  1. Contact the academic secretariat at (613) 562-5804 to find out about registration dates.
  2. Fill out all sections of the Graduate Registration form. (Since you are not studying for a degree, please write “special student” in the section “degree sought”.)
  3. Send or present your registration form and a copy of all your university transcripts (and proof of language proficiency, if applicable) to the academic secretariat of the Faculty of Education (fax number (613) 562-5963).
  4. Consult your Infoweb account to verify your registration and pay your tuition fees.

Please note that you must submit your documents (registration form and transcripts) before the deadline but registration for special students will take place during the last week of the registration period provided space is still available in the class.
