Police Record Check
The Teacher of Education program requires successful completion of practicum assignments in the schools. School Boards require students placed in Ontario schools to complete a satisfactory Police Record Check screening prior to having direct contact with students. Without a satisfactory Police Record Check the schools will not allow you to participate in practicum assignments. Please consult the following web site for more information and forms

All four School Board Associations have established the Ontario Education Services Corporation (OESC) to conduct the required Police Record Check screenings on behalf of the Boards.
THE DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF THE FORMS IS JULY 15 FOR THE FALL SESSION AND OCTOBER 15 FOR THE WINTER SESSION. There is no guarantee that a card will be issued by the begining of the session if forms are received after these dates.
Questions regarding this process should be directed to the OESC by e-mail (oesc-cseo@opsba.org) or fax 416-593-7858.
Please note: this ID card is a requirement of the school boards where students are assigned to complete their practicum placements and is for that purpose ONLY . Once the Bachelor of Education completed, the Ontario College of Teachers will request another Police Record Check in order to apply for employment with school boards.
